Help Kids Go Back to School!

Donate to support community efforts in the Grand Anse where students have been out of school since the earthquake in 2021

Hundreds of schools were damaged or destroyed during the August 14, 2021 earthquake. Two years later, only a handful of schools have been rebuilt and thousands of children are still unable to return to class.

The Haiti Response Coalition has been working hand in hand with communities to build temporary schools using durable materials including tin roofing, wood and concrete posts. The labor to construct the structures, which consist of six classrooms, is donated by parents, teachers, and other community members who work alongside Coalition mobilizers, including a civil engineer who provides technical support. Through this approach called Konbit Lekòl, ten schools in the South, Grand Anse and Nippes have already re-opened.

However, the need for safe structures where students can get back to learning is huge and many children have not been able to attend school for the last two years.

Please donate today to help kids in the Grand Anse go back to school this September!
